Essentials of the Christian Faith
The purpose of this course is to help our congregation (and any who wish to join us) acquire clear and certain knowledge of what traditional Christianity has taught since its beginnings in the first century.
First Section: Jesus is God
“Jesus was a great teacher, but he was not God.” One-third of people who say they are Bible-believing Christians agree with this statement! We will look at what the Bible and the Church have taught throughout history.
Second Section: The Trinity
Believing in One God and understanding Him as three persons within that oneness is a struggle for any of us to explain. But the concept is taught in the Bible even if the word is not to be found. We consider the trinitarian view to be an essential belief of the Christian Faith
Third Section: Salvation
What does it mean to be saved? It is more complex than many of the simple answers we give. It is a theme that we find throughout the scriptures. It involves more then getting to go to heaven when we die. In this section we will look in depth of an issue that many have misunderstood.

We will be regularly expanding this reading list.
Theology
“The disconnect between theology and the church and between theology and the Christian has had disastrous results. One need only look at recent polls examining the level of theological knowledge among professing Christians to know that something has gone awry.” — Keith A. Mathison
