Why?
There are many reasons to join a church. The first and most Biblical reason is that as followers of Christ we are to be holding one another accountable (Ephesians 4:11-16). In addition, membership models commitment to Christ’s Church and to his family. There are many benefits to membership and to obedience to Christ. Please see the articles linked below to learn more.

Should Every Christian Join a Church? – Mark Dever
“The eye cannot say to the hand, ‘I have no need of you,’ nor again the head to the feet, ‘I have no need of you.” – 1 Corinthians 12:21
“So I don’t think Jesus died to create unattached, free-floating Christians. I think he died to create the church where the real, true individuality of every believer comes into its own. The more disconnected we are from a local church, the more confused we will be about who we are and who God made us to be. We find our true individual selves in relationship to others.” — John Piper, Desiring God.

Let’s Grow Together!
First Baptist Church is very focused on how each of us will grow as a disciple of Jesus Christ. We do not grow in isolation. Iron sharpens iron! We are here to work together through the meaning, the challenges and the discipline of becoming faithful followers of Jesus. The Get Started button below will take you to the two Statements of Faith.
